| HALLOWEEN CAMPOUT 2007 FRIDAY OCT. 12 5:00pm-6:00pm Camp Survivor - 6:00pm-8:00pm Hospitality Hour – Come by the Shelter House for hot dogs, chips, and beverages. 9:00pm-10:00pm Bonfire & Scary Stories – Meet at the amphitheater and sit by a warm fire, while you hear scary stories that may just be true. SATURDAY OCT 13 9:00am Silent Auction Bidding Opens – See items displayed on the deck of the Camp Store. The auction is hosted by park Volunteers, with all proceeds going toward park improvements. A few examples would be playground equipment, flowers throughout the park, and the Shelter House. 9:00am-12:00pm Corn Hole Tournament – Meet at the Shelter House and see if you can win a prize. Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. 10:00am Archery Contest – Meet Naturalist Matt Minter for some shooting fun 12:00pm-1:00pm Ghoulish Carnival – Meet at the Shelter House for games, prizes, face painting, and helium balloons. 12:00pm-1:00pm Great American Shoot Out – 1:30pm-3:30pm Halloween Hayride - Meet the Naturalist at the Overflow Parking Lot to take a ride and sing Halloween songs. 4:30pm-5:30pm Costume Contest – Meet at the Amphitheater for a contest where kids and pets can win some really cool prizes. Prizes will be given to the Top Pet and Runner Up. Kids will get a prize if they place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Only during contest will pets be permitted at the Amphitheater. Prizes will be awarded at this time. Participates must be register campers, and children should be 12 and under. 5:45pm-6:45pm Trick or Treat – Kids 12 and under can walk through the campground looking for trick or treats! CAMP ROAD WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC FROM 5:40pm-6:50pm 7:00pm Silent Auction Bidding Closes – To reduce confusion we have decided to post all top bidders on the Camp Store’s Bulletin Board at 7:30pm. Please try to pick up your items from 7:30pm-8:30pm. 7:30pm-8:00pm Pumpkin Treat Cook Off – Bring your favorite pumpkin dishes to the Shelter House and try to win a prize for the Top Dish and Runner Up. 8:00pm-8:30pm Pumpkin Carving Entries Due – Bring your carved pumpkin to the Amphitheater stage for a chance to win prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners. Don’t forget to light your pumpkin when you drop it off. Each pumpkin must have an entry form with it to qualify for the contest. Entry forms can be picked up at the Camp Store, and you must be a registered camper to participate. (PUT ON SCHEDULE TO BRING YOUR OWN PUMPKIN) 8:00pm-9:00pm Camp Site Votes – Drop off you ballet for whom you think has the best decorated campsite. All votes will be tallied and winners will be posted at the Camp Store’s Bulletin Board. Campers have the chance to place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd to win a prize. 8:00pm Haunted Trail – Trail starts at the Amphitheater. It must be dark enough for the trail to start, so will you be brave enough to encounter the scary and frightening monsters as you walk through the Haunted Woods. All children must be accompanied by an adult. For those of you that make it through, grab your free hot chocolate at the donation box at the end of the trail. All proceeds go toward park improvements. |
