ROCKY FORK STATE PARK HALLOWEEN CAMPOUT 2007 FRIDAY OCT. 19 9:00am SILENT AUCTION BIDDING OPENS- Items displayed at camp store. Bidding will close at 9:00pm. Saturday. Winners will be posted at 9:30am Sunday. Please have items picked up by Noon Sunday. The auction is hosted by volunteers in park. Proceeds will go to this event and future events. 5:00pm-5:45pm SCAVENGER HUNT Meet at the Nature Center with the Naturalist. 6:00pm-7:00pm CRAFT (PAINT YOUR PUMPKIN) Meet at The Buckeye Pavilion shelter house and make a craft with the Naturalist. 6:30pm- Popcorn $1.00 coffee, hot chocolate, drinks $.50 at the Volunteer Tent (Site 136). 7:30pm/dark MOVIE TIME a fun Halloween movie will be played at the amphitheater Weather Permitting SATURDAY OCT 20 10:00am-10:45am CARNIVAL GAMES at the Buckeye Pavilion, shelter house. 11:00am PUMPKIN HUNT 12yrs and under. Meet at Buckeye Pavilion, shelter house 11:30am-12:30pm PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST-. Buckeye Pavilion, shelter house. Bring your pumpkin and carving tools. Pumpkins must be carved at this time, but may be hollowed out prior. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Also, remember to fill out your official entry card and tag it to the pumpkin when you are finished. Awards will be announced at 12:45pm 12:50pm LOCAL AUTHOR JAMES D. ADAMS at the Buckeye Pavilion: Book signing and presentation. Mr. Adams mixes in a bunch of fun activities that highlights arts, music, illustrating to writing and acting. 1:30pm HALLOWEEN BALLOONS at the shelter house. Stop in and pick one up from the Naturalist. 2:00pm-3:00pm TRICK OR TREAT- *Camp roads closed to traffic 1:50pm-3:10pm. 3:15pm-COSTUME CONTEST- will be held at the amphitheater. Individual Contestants will be divided up into age groups and judged for the most original, scariest, funniest, and best overall. An Award will be given for the best group costume (3 or more people). There will be prizes for the most original, scariest, funniest, and best overall pet costumes. 5:00pm-HOSPITALITY DINNER- Beans, cornbread, hot dogs & drinks at the Buckeye Pavilion. Desserts appreciated. 5:00pm-7:00pm WAGON RIDES through the campground. Pick-up and stops at campstore. Please, one ride per person, so everyone gets a ride. 7:00pm-CAMPSITE DECORATING CONTEST- judging will begin at this time. Top three winners will be posted at the campstore, Sunday 9:00am. Winners may pick up their prizes at campstore Sunday 9am-noon. 7:00pm-BINGO- at the Buckeye Pavilion 7:30pm-10:00pm- HAUNTED TRAIL at Dovetail activity area. (Trail will start at dark). Tickets available at entrance. suggested $3.00 donation per person. Popcorn $1.00 coffee, hot chocolate, drinks $.50 will be available at the entrance to the Haunted Trail. Proceeds from the haunted trail go to Volunteer programs, special events & Lynchburg Boy Scout Troop 120. 9:00pm SILENT AUCTION BIDDING CLOSING at campstore.
